Privacy notice

This notice explains what personal information this website collects, why, how long we keep it, and the choices you have. It covers this website only. It does not cover the information that companies store inside their own installation of the Keelsum software: see section 9.

1. Who we are

This website is run by the operator of the Keelsum software, referred to here as “we”. You can contact us about anything in this notice at hello@keelsum.com.

2. What we collect

Information you give us. If you use the demo request form we collect:

Information collected automatically. Like most websites, the server that delivers this page may record technical details of each visit, such as your IP address, the time, the page requested and your browser type. This is used to keep the site working and secure.

Cookies and trackers. This website does not use cookies, advertising trackers or analytics, and does not load fonts, scripts or images from other companies. If you switch between light and dark themes, your choice is saved in your own browser only. It is never sent to us.

3. Why we use it

We do not send marketing messages unless you ask us to. We do not use your details to make automated decisions about you.

4. The basis on which we use it

We use the details you send in the demo form because you asked us to contact you, and to take steps before a possible agreement. We use technical details because we have a legitimate interest in keeping the website secure. Where we ever need your consent, we will ask for it clearly and you can withdraw it at any time.

5. Who we share it with

We do not sell your information. We may share it only with:

6. Where it is kept

Your details are kept on the systems of the providers described above. If any of them holds information outside Nigeria, we will make sure it is protected to a comparable standard, and we will say which countries are involved.

7. How long we keep it

We keep demo request details for up to 12 months after your last contact with us, unless you become a customer (in which case they become part of our customer records) or you ask us to delete them sooner. Technical server records are kept only as long as needed for security.

8. Your rights

You can ask us to:

Write to us at the address below and we will reply within a reasonable time. If you are not happy with how we handle your information, you have the right to complain to the Nigeria Data Protection Commission.

9. Information inside the Keelsum software

Keelsum is installed on the customer’s own server. The employee records, payroll and other information a company keeps inside its own installation are held on that company’s systems, under its control, and are covered by that company’s own privacy notice. If we ever need to access a customer’s installation to provide support, that is covered by our agreement with that customer, not by this notice.

10. Security

We use sensible technical and organisational measures to protect the information you send us, including limiting who can see it. No method of sending information over the internet is completely secure, so we cannot promise absolute security.

11. Children

This website is meant for people who work in businesses. It is not aimed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.

12. Changes and contact

If we change this notice we will update the date at the top. For questions or to use your rights, contact us:
